  • Informal Conversations: You do not need to inform your manager if you are having an informal conversation with a hiring manager about a potential role.

  • Getting Feedback: If you are not selected for an interview, you will receive feedback to support your continued development.

  • Career Guidance: For broader career conversations, we recommend speaking with your People Partner.

Guidance for Hiring Managers

  • Approaching a Colleague: Before approaching a colleague about a potential role, please inform their current manager. Managers are expected to support their team members' career development.

  • Fair Assessment: All internal candidates will be assessed fairly based on their experience, knowledge, and skills.

  • Providing Feedback: The Hiring Manager is responsible for providing direct feedback to internal candidates who are not successful after an interview.

  • How do I make an application? All applications need to be made in Pinpoint, and you should advise your manager once you formally apply for an open position. If you are concerned about speaking with your manager, please contact your People Partner.

  • Can I apply for a position located in a different country/region? We are a global business and strive to provide opportunities for all colleagues. However, where we have a specific business need for a position to be based in a particular country or region, we will prioritize colleagues who are already based in that location.

  • Will I be assessed differently as an internal candidate? Your skills, knowledge, and experience will be assessed for the role, just like any other candidate. If you are not shortlisted, we will provide feedback to help with your development.

  • Who do I speak to if I have questions on an internal position? For questions about a specific role, we recommend you speak with the assigned Recruiter. For more general career questions, please reach out to your local People Partner.

  • What happens if I am successful? If you are successful and accept the position, your current and future manager, along with your People Partner, will work on a transition plan, which will aim to align with the contractual notice in your current employment contract.

  • Will I get a new contract? Yes, if you are successful, you will either receive a new contract or a change letter to confirm your new position.

  • If I’m not successful, will I get feedback? All internal colleagues who apply for a role will receive feedback to support their continued career development.

  • Can anyone help me with career guidance? If you would like to have a broader conversation about your career at Digital Science, we recommend that you speak to your local People Partner in the first instance.
