Our strength lies in our people. The Community Hub is where you can connect with your colleagues, share your passions, and find a sense of belonging. Whether you're looking for a formal group or a casual chat, this is the place to find your community and help others find theirs.
Our Community Groups
Employee Resource Groups: Our ERGs are voluntary, employee-led communities that empower and support our people in building an inclusive workplace. They provide a safe space for colleagues to connect, share experiences, and support each other, while also playing a crucial role in shaping our culture and policies. We're proud to support the following ERGs:
- Women @ DS
- Pride
- Ethniverse
- Neurodiversity and Disability
Special Interest Groups: Beyond our ERGs, you'll find groups dedicated to specific topics and passions that are important to our community and our vision for research. A key example is our Sustainability Group, where colleagues collaborate on initiatives to make Digital Science more environmentally responsible and advocate for sustainable practices.
You can find out more about these groups, and how to join by visiting the ERG home page.
Our Slack Communities
Slack is a great place to connect with colleagues and join a huge variety of communities, both professional and social. From location-specific channels to groups for book lovers, sports fans, and parents, there’s a channel for everyone. This directory provides a list of some of our most popular and active channels. If you can’t find what you’re looking for, why not create your own?
To join a channel, click the link below, or simply search for the channel name in Slack.
- #random: Our general catch-all channel for light-hearted chat, interesting links, and anything that doesn't quite fit elsewhere.
- #wellbeing: A supportive space for sharing resources, tips, and discussions related to mental, physical, and emotional health to foster collective wellbeing within our community.
- #DS-equity-diversity-inclusion: A space for discussions, resources, and updates related to culture and inclusion.
- #careers_at_digital_science: designed to showcase our career opportunities across the business and connect you to our vacancies.
- #fuzzy-friends: Share photos and stories of your beloved pets! A guaranteed source of smiles.
- #cookery-corner: Swap recipes, share your latest culinary creations, or ask for cooking tips.
- #mindfulness: This channel provides resources and practices to help you stay present and reduce stress.
- #yoga: Find tips, inspiration, and community for your yoga journey.

- #theatre-arts-culture: Notable events you've attended, want to attend, want to discuss, etc. This is focused more on theatre and other arts (but not tele programmes)
- #restaurants-food: a London-based directory for foodies and their recommendations. Non-Londoners welcome, of course!
- #football: For anybody in the London office that would like to play football on Mondays
- Location-specific channels: Looking to connect with colleagues near you? Keep an eye out for channels like #general_london, or others relevant to our global office locations and remote hubs.
