Before adding your objectives to Bob, please review them with your manager and make edits as needed. Ensure your objectives are specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound (SMART). Learn more about setting objectives and SMART DS - Setting Objectives

Add a Goal (Objective)

Please note that we use the terms Goals and Objectives interchangeably in this guide. At Digital Science, we prefer the term Objective, however Bob’s module is called Goals.

Shared goals are viewable by:

  • your Manager (direct and indirect)

  • the People Team

  • the Team members in the same department 2 as you

Personal goals are viewable by:

  • your manager (direct and indirect)

  • the People Team

In order to access the Talent module, navigate to Talent using the waffle in the top left corner and select Goals and My Goals.

Select + New goal and add in your objective/ goal details

  • Give the Objective a Title and Description.

  • Select a Time frame of when you want to achieve this objective

  • Select if the objective is Shared or Personal (visibility for shared and personal goals is explained at the top of this article).

  • Create measurable Key Results for each of your objectives.

Best practice is to use number, percentage and currency as much as possible so you can track progress

  • You can use the AI tool (Generate button) to automatically create some key results, or you can create your own list of key results.

  • Align your goal to a department goal (if applicable)

  • Press Save and repeat the process for each objective.

Edit your goal and key results

Select the goal you would like to edit, select the More drop down box and choose Edit.

Check-ins and updates

Select the goal you would like to update with regards to progress.

Click the Check in button to update your metrics.

Check in on the goal and indicate if you are On Track or Off Track.

  • Update your metrics

  • Add any comments in the Check in note section.

This updates the Activity log below

  • You can enter more comments in this section in addition

  • Your manager can also check in and add comments to your goals

As you check in on your goals, these changes update the My Goals overview page.

Close Goals

When your goal is complete, or finished, you can then Close the goal and complete a final check in on it.

  • Make the goal complete or incomplete

  • Goals do not need to be at 100% to close them. Goals can remain incomplete

The goal will then grey out and change to blue.

In order to view Company Goals, navigate to Talent, Goals and Company Goals. You will be able to view progress on each of them.
