JumpCloud is our Directory platform to manage users, devices and applications. It’s needed group wide for ISO 27001 compliance. All laptops must have it without exception.

For new JumpCloud users (as of February 2024, your JumpCloud login will be your @Digital-Science.com e-mail address

Step 1 - Tell us your User ID

You can skip this step if you have a brand new computer. This step is only for computers which didn’t previously have JumpCloud installed, for example computers belonging to people in companies acquired by Digital Science.

We will need your User ID to be able to create your JumpCloud account.

  • Mac

Open Terminal, type id and press return:

Please take a print screen and send it to [email protected] subject “User ID for JumpCloud”.

  • Windows

Open Command Prompt, type whoami and press return:

  • Linux

Open Terminal, type id and press return:

Please take a print screen and send it to [email protected] subject “User ID for JumpCloud”.

Step 2 - Choose your password

The above steps will enable Group IT to create your JumpCloud account. You will receive an automated e-mail from JumpCloud with the subject “Welcome to Digital Science’s JumpCloud”.

Please click the link in the e-mail you receive or log in here: https://console.jumpcloud.com/login

You will be prompted to choose your password and set up multi factor authentication

Once all steps are complete, this password you choose will become the log in password for your laptop, so make sure you remember it!

We strongly recommend using an Authenticator App, like Google Authenticator (you can download this app on your phone from Apple Store or Google Play then scan the QR code when prompted).

Step 3 - Installing the JumpCloud Agent

Mac

Navigate to Security in the left menu, then Download Agent.

While the agent is downloading, select generate key and copy it. You will need it later.

You may be prompted for your current laptop password twice, as well as the JumpCloud key:

When prompted, please enable full disk access for the JumpCloud agent:

MDM enrolment for Mac

After the JumpCloud agent is installed and you've received instructions from the admin, you’ll need to enroll the MDM profile. In the upper right corner of the screen, please go the JumpCloud icon (the one with a red dot) and select Enroll:

Continue:

The Privacy & Security menu will pop up. Scroll all the way down to Profiles:

Double click on the MDM Enrollment Profile:

Select Enrol from lower left:

Enter your password and you are all set:

Once the installation has finished, you’re all set . If any errors occur during the installation, please contact Group IT.

Windows

Navigate to Security in the left menu, then click Download Agent.

Linux

You will have to navigate to Security in the left menu, then you will have the Generate command in the lower right. Please copy the command and run it in a terminal.
